A Big European Campervan Adventure Draws To A Close
October 28, 2016
Beth and Graham Milward have finished their two year European motorhome tour and their trusty “Special Edition” Sky 20 motorhome is now for sale again.
The Milwards from Australia covered much of Europe in their two year trip and very kindly wrote to tell us about their hightlights (see the letter they wrote below). They actually travelled in their campervan for a total of 11 months over the two years, storing their vehicle in the workshop at Eurocampingcars for the period they returned to Australia.
To Hannah, Phill and the team at France Motorhome Hire.
We have now settled back into life after our 11 months of touring Europe over 2 years. What an amazing experience we have had. We have seen spectacular scenery, learnt about history that changed Europe, enjoyed medieval cities, toured fantastic mines, caves and museums, seen incredible buildings and met some fabulous people. Below are just a few of the highlights of our trip.
- Being mesmerized by Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona, Spain.
- Balloon ride in Cappadocia (Goreme) in Turkey drifting over ancient cave homes with one hundred other balloons.
- Marvelling at Norway’s coast line from the southern tip up to the Lofoten Islands.
- Gazing at the 2,000-year-old Roman aqueduct in Sergovia, Spain.
- Absorbing the view from the top of Jungfrau mountain in Switzerland.
- Boating on the Danube Delta in Romania.
- Touring the Wieliczka salt mine and its amazing sculptured chapel near Krakow in Poland.
- Feeling overwhelmed during our visit to Auschwitz in Poland.
- Viewing the ancient ruins of Greece and the amazing Meteora Monasteries.
- The Plitvice Lakes National park in Croatia.
- Bruges in Belgium.
- Viking burial site in Denmark.
- Travelling the Grossglockner road in Austria.
- Crossing the Viaduct de Millau in France.
- Using both gestures and translators to chat with some wonderful people.
- Taking in the fantastic scenery in Montenegro and Bosnia.
- Strolling the streets of Prague.
- Being amazed by the water management that keeps The Netherlands dry
Despite media hype about refugees, we did not encounter any problems. In fact, we hardly saw any refugees and then only individuals.
Throughout our journey, the support given by you and your team at France Motorhome Hire has been amazing. We feel we won the jackpot when we decided to buy our motorhome through your business. Your support when we needed to return to Australia for family emergencies was more than we could have hoped for. During the entire period we have known you, Hannah and Phill, it has been a relationship of complete trust. You have provided the support we needed to enable us to have a hassle free holiday. When we needed you, you were always there. You never let us down and we trust you totally.
We can give our strongest recommendation to anyone contemplating hiring or buying a motorhome through France Motorhome Hire.
If anyone is buying a motorhome through you and would like more information that has not been covered in our “Touring Western and Eastern Europe” Information sheets*, then we are happy to answer their questions if we can.
Thank you Hannah and Phill. What a pleasure it has been to deal with you and your company. All the best for the future.
