Our Knaus 650 MX has a long list of assets but it’s mainly about the bed for me!

This bed is so comfortable and the black out blinds are so good, you forget you are in a motorhome
A few weeks ago we gave you a sneak preview of our gorgeous, demonstrator and promised to tell you more about it. We have just got back from a trip in the Knaus Live Wave 650MX and can confirm it is the most comfortable motorhome ever to grace our fleet!
This whole space has an unusually light and airy feel for an RV

The features we particularly love
– Massive, central bed giving easy access from both sides so no more climbing over your other half or slithering out of the end of the bed during the night. The “Evopore” mattress is incredibly comfortable too – we have never had a better night’s sleep in a motorhome.
– Swivelling cab seats, “L” shaped benches and the large overhead skylight give the feel of a comfortable, light and airy lounge so this van feels like a real home from home which is ideal on a long trip. The dining table can also be moved so you are able to dine in comfort from any seat.
It is worth investing in finishing touches such as additional USB charging points, cab blackout blinds and skylights.

– The toilet/hand basin and shower are totally separate which is really convenient if two of you are getting ready for the day at the same time.
– Two Gaslow refillable gas tanks are a great addition. No more hunting for the right brand of gas or lugging heavy gas bottles in and out to change them – you simply refill at them at fuel stations via the external fitting (mounted on the gas locker door). This is a great advantage when travelling to lots of different countries where the gas bottles and fittings are different in each.
Putting the WC/hand basin in a separate space to the shower is really practical for two people wanting to shower and prepare for the day at one time

– Big fridge/freezer means you can make less food shopping trips and keep a good supply of everything in stock from frozen casseroles to fine Chardonnays from Burgundy!
– Lowering bike rack – even those of us who are shorter than 5’2” can load and unload the bikes when the bike rack winds down to a little lower than knee height.
– SOG WC cassette venting system which renders the chemical toilet completely odourless inside the van.
The alcove kitchen is neat and practical with a good sized sink, three ring hob and full height fridge freezer

Other features we really enjoyed
– Electric step which closes automatically when you start the engine.
– Central service locker gives easy access to water/waste tanks and your electrical plug in.
– Neat alcove kitchen means you are always out of the main thoroughfare from the front to the back of the van so all other activity inside the van does not have to cease every time you prepare a meal.
Metallic paint on the cab and alloy wheels add an upmarket look to the 650 MX and the neat awning hardly interrupts the smart lines of this great looking motorhome

– Cavernous garage allows you store just about anything you could possibly need without having to compromise.
– Generous sized, drop-down bed offers a second, double bed for visiting family and friends.
– “Remis” blinds in the cab (windscreen and side windows) give total privacy at night and keeps the daylight out to ensure long, lazy lie-ins are possible.
A huge garage locker, Gaslow refillable LPG tanks and extra locks add convenience and security

– Mossie nets on all windows and the accommodation door give you abundant fresh air without the nuisance of bugs.
– Extra “Fiamma” door locks give you peace of mind when leaving your pride and joy unattended.
– Wind-out awning offers protection from sun/showers and takes seconds to wind into position.
A lowering bike rack, electric step and mosquito nets on the accommodation door all make life on the road easier and more comfortable

– Reversing camera is handy for getting out of tight spaces and the GPS system takes the hassle out of finding your way around and avoiding traffic jams/road closures.
– Additional USB sockets in the accommodation area allow you to charge phones from the leisure battery even when the engine is not running.
Our Live Wave 650MX is on a Fiat Ducato chassis with 2.3 multijet turbo diesel (EURO 6 specification) 150hp engine upgrade, AUTOMATIC 6 speed gearbox. You can see the standard model details on the Knaus website here.

I was going to list all the extras in this text but I decided it would be better to attach it as a PDF so you can download and save it to use as a “wish list” when you are specifying your next motorhome: DOWNLOAD PDF.
Lead times from order to production and delivery are currently around six months and this delay might get a little longer after the European motorhome shows, which begin in the summer.
The price for this model with all the features we have listed is €81,499.00 (including all taxes). The price for the most basic version of this model with no extras, 130hp engine and a manual gearbox is €58990 (including all taxes). Prices will rise before the European shows in time for 2020 deliveries so why not order your motorhome now for just a 10% down payment.
