Selling at the end of your trip, what are your options?

We should make it clear at this point that we do not offer a “buy and sell-back” service.  Such schemes do exist in Europe but they seem to be designed to disadvantage the motorhome owner and avoid giving them the agreed sell-back price.

If you think about it, when you have a choice of precisely one outlet to sell your vehicle, it is not likely to yield the best price! If that company holds the legal title to your campervan too (which some offer to), you cannot even sell to an alternative buyer.

Our mission is to offer a more honest and fair proposition to ensure that anyone who buys from us gets the best return when they come to sell.

We have sold a great number of vehicles on behalf of clients at the end of their trips but some clients have managed to sell their vehicles directly to a buyer from their own country.  Others have sold to dealers in other countries and one client even sold to someone he met on a campsite!  We think it is best to have the freedom to choose how you sell your vehicle when your trip finishes in case you find a convenient opportunity to sell it.

If you have to head home before selling your vehicle or you don’t want to sell it yourself, you can simply leave it with us to sell.  Rather than ensure you get the lowest possible price for it (as you will from the “Buy and sell-back” operators), if we are selling on a brokerage (commission sale) basis, clearly it is in our interests to make sure it sells for the highest possible price.

We do not undertake to buy your RV back after the end of your trip but we will consider doing so if our stock levels allow at the time.  Alternatively, our brokerage/commission rates to sell it on your behalf are very reasonable and selling it this way means you can simply hand your vehicle over to us and head home when your trip finishes.  We will handle the marketing and post-sale administration on your behalf.  If your vehicle requires repairs, servicing, cleaning or a statutory road worthiness test prior to sale, you can either get these done yourself before you drop the vehicle with us or we can offer these services at additional cost.

If you do sell the vehicle yourself, we can store your vehicle until the new owner arrives and hand it over to them on your behalf if you have already left France.  We can also offer a full range of services to subsequent owners from vehicle storage to servicing and fitting accessories.

If you want a completely hassle-free sale, we will handle the disposal of the vehicle for you on a commission basis at 10% (fees included) or if you find a buyer yourselves but need us to handle the sale and handover to the new owner, we charge a fee of 8%.
